Using proxy is same as hiding our IP?

hai im kinda new with this thing...

using proxy is same as hiding our IP and became unknown...
could it be use to be detect as US IP for example?

Yes, the main purpose to use a proxy is to hide the real IP address. But not all the proxies can hide your real IP:

i know its hiding our own IP...
but my purpose using proxy server is to be detected as US or UK IP...
couldnt it be done?

Of course it can be done, you simply use an anonymous proxy from whatever country you wish to be from.
I tell it like it is and that's offensive to those professing knowledge they don't have.
