Use socks proxy to play World of Warcraft
« on: January 24, 2009, 02:24:44 AM »
I was wondering if there was a way to make it so I can connect the computer I am on now to my home computer through the internet and use the internet that my home computer has to play WoW.  I want to run the game on the computer I am not so not a virtual machine or something like that where it runs on the home computer.  I believe I have to set up a server on my home computer and connect to it from the computer I am on now to get it to work but I am not sure how to go about this.  Are there any guides or can anyone explain to me how to accomplish this?

Thanks in advance.

You don't need to set up a server.

You need socks5 proxies and the tool to use socks5:
http://www.socksproxychecker.com/sockscap.html
Elite Proxy Switcher - Easily testing and using proxies.
Socks Proxy Checker - To be your chief socks proxy checker.
Buy Proxy - Buy checked proxies from My-Proxy easily and quickly.

Hi, thanks for the help.  I downloaded freecap and went to the socks5 proxy part of this forum and entered a few of them into the freecap program.  Then i dragged the WoW.exe into freecap and ran the program.  However, during each attempt of trying to connect to WoW the program always stops at connecting.

Did I do something wrong? Or am I just trying bad servers?  Is there a way for me to set up my own server on a different internet connection so that I know the server should always be good?

Thanks in advance.

The socks proxy you are using is dead, you have to change another.
