Proxy Questions / Re: Need some help with proxy @ school

Have you tried WideCap? Can you describe what happened? You might wanna try FreeCap too if you haven't already. You just add the (working) proxy and direct to the program you want to proxify, i.e. Firefox/IE. Also, a good SOCKS proxy would be best.

HTTP proxies for web, SOCKS4/5 for chat, HTTPS for IRC. Now you know what you're looking for, your job is to scan regularly for working proxies and test them until one works.

It's something we all have to deal with almost daily.

lol. It's up to you, some antivirus may consider proxy scanners to be a 'hack tool' so they flag it. I use it on my laptop via a wireless router and reinstall Windows about every 4 months so I really don't care.

But I never had any problems anyway.

Proxies last for a few hours at best. If you find one that stays up for days consider it suspicious!

If you want relatively fast speeds for general browsing, it's best to use Tor.

But as Tor is blocked from many sites, I still need to scan for proxies and use proxy list sites like this one.

I never liked the 'improved' ProxyHunter--slow, too many redundant features. Here's the original and best. None of the shareware programs are faster at finding fresh proxies.
Code: [Select]
Hope it's useful to someone. Don't forget to post any proxies you get!  ;D
