Need some help with proxy @ school
« on: September 05, 2008, 03:53:51 AM »
Heya guys,

I'm been searching a long time to find out how proxies work, but can't find the answers on my question anywhere.
I'm trying to bypass my schools proxy for some programs.
I'm using IE & Firefox etc. thru a proxy like 172.16.231.215:8080

Now I need to know how to setup a program like widecap to bypass the proxy, so I can access programs or games etc.
One of the most important thing for me is how I could use a proxy program like widecap to login on eve online and change skills.

I hope you guys could help me..

Thanks in advance.

Have you tried WideCap? Can you describe what happened? You might wanna try FreeCap too if you haven't already. You just add the (working) proxy and direct to the program you want to proxify, i.e. Firefox/IE. Also, a good SOCKS proxy would be best.

Unbelievably simple based on the "extra info" you provided.

HTTP_X_FORWARDED_FOR   172.16.231.215 Dubious
Conclusion    You are using a transparent proxy: 195.169.155.126

You can't use a transparent proxy for pete sake!!!  You should be able to use, depending on the site(s) in question, any high anonymous (elite) proxy that isn't a Planetlab/CoDeeN.

However, your best bet is simply to use either a web proxy or cgi proxy.  Search for them using Google's search engine.

I tell it like it is and that's offensive to those professing knowledge they don't have.
