how do I find the proxy IP address?
« on: July 21, 2006, 02:22:52 PM »
Hi Guys,

At work we are blocked from everything on the net. We are behind a GSEC1 firewall with all the content filter and blah blah blah.....

It uses a Transparent web proxy.

They have recently blocked web msn cause i was using that, however they dont know that windows messenger is still install and allthough through start / programs I cannot open it as its locked down, I can open outlook express and it opens automatically.

My question is how the hell do I find out what IP address the proxy is because if I can find that I can change windows messengers settings to go through the http proxy on port 80 and get away with it till i get caught / dissaplined but I dont know how to find the proxy server address.

Ive got access to command prompt and can ping / tracert but it only gived me the gateway IP not the proxy, is there a way of doing this???

Thanks in advanced for any assistance :)

no joy mate, is there a way of finding it using CMD?

ipconfig/ all only brings up the gateway which has the proxy on it. Will that be the proxy address ?
