New to the forum.  I have subscribed to the "Leech" program recently.  The type of proxys that I need can not show that they are comming from a proxy server.   So, I think that from the terminology I have been seeing, I am looking for a level 1.  However, if the IP is anonymous, it may not work for my purposes.  Are there level 1 proxys that show the IP address.  For my purposes, I just need different IP addresses that aren't dangerous or compromised, but whose whereabouts can not be traced to a proxy server.  From my research, transperent proxys won't work becuase they reveal that they are from a proxy server, and I don't believe that will work for my purposes.  Please advise, and thanks
Terry

Forum Proxy Leecher classifies the proxies into 3 levels:

Quote
    *  High Anonymous Proxy (Level 1): The web server can't detect whether you are using a proxy by the information your browser sent.
    * Anonymous Proxy (Level 2): The web server knows that you are probably using a proxy, but it can't detect your real IP.
    * Transparent Proxy (Level 3): The web server knows that you are using a proxy and it can also detect your real IP address.

Your offering doesn't actually answer his questions Terry.

However, if the IP is anonymous, it may not work for my purposes.  Are there level 1 proxys that show the IP address.

All proxies reveal an IP Address regardless of level.  In order for a proxy to be classified as "high anonymous", otherwise known as an "elite" (level 1) proxy, it must also not reveal that it is a proxy.  Simply put, this means that it's hostname (if it has one) must not contain information that immediately identifes it as a proxy.

I tell it like it is and that's offensive to those professing knowledge they don't have.

In short put, out of every 100.000 proxies that Forum Proxy Leecher labels as Anonymous, 19.950 are NOT anonymous, 80.000 are worthless Codeen/Planetlab sites, 49 are unstable/non-responsive proxies, and 1 is a REAL PROXY.  Wink

Those findings Julie are in reality over simplified and grossly exaggerated.  FPL harvests proxies from the forums you point it at.

Please post a very recent list of proxies that FPL reported as anonymous, but supposedly weren't.  By recent list I mean a list that was tested within 5 minutes of posting your results here.

I tell it like it is and that's offensive to those professing knowledge they don't have.
