Safe use of public proxy

I used some public proxies for a spider-program that surf the net. Last time I uses them, I’ve got spy-ware on my computer that send emails using my mail account. How to prevent the problem in the future?

There is nothing to do with the proxies. You got spyware on your computer because your spider program might surf some bad websites or you might run some bad programs before.

You can install an anti-virus program such as Mcafee or Norton on your computer to prevent the problem.
