Sorry to have muddied the waters.

I didn't realize an online proxyjudge responds to a call about a proxy from its cache.
btw, Zero, there are internet sites that list proxies as being "tested hourly."
However, if you check even these (with Charon), you'll see that most of them don't work.
You really need to check them yourself.

As to the proxy being anon. one time, non-anon another, that is exactly right. At least, if a proxy goes "down," not just change its mode while using it, your browser will most likely not be able to connect to the internet.

I came across a program that supposedly tells you when the mode changes; however, since I don't remember the name, that's a bit of useless information.

I do use Charon and do use it with AZenv judges, for the same reasons mentioned.

Since Proxyjudges go up and down as well as proxies. A Google search will turn up sites that have a compiled list of what was found when that list was made. These judges can be loaded into Charon, tested and either kept or thrown away.

I think the best way to find working proxies is to be your own judge. Which is as stated, Charon's default. That's a very nice detail Charon gives us. That won't tell though, if a proxy changes mode.
