For some reason, whenever I hit the "Start Leeching" button on FPL, about 2 seconds later, the program shuts down saying serial number error. I tried reinstalling this software twice to no avail. I I did not buy this software, I downloaded it for free. Any help will be appreciated.

that's because you used up a crack i assume, try deleting FPL folder in Program files and download trial version from the link terry gave you.
